The Applications Engineer serves as a liaison between outside sales, inside sales, customers, engineers and production. The Applications Engineer will extract detailed customer needs and provide proper equipment selection and sizing, develop equipment proposals, provide detailed specifications and drawings for customer and engineer review, and assist inside engineering with final design. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide sales and process support which include designing application engineering and system cost estimates to customers across municipal and industrial applications
  • Review technical project specifications and drawings for municipal and industrial wastewater projects, clarify project scope, and identify areas of non-compliance to support the sales team
  • Collaborate with counterparts to select appropriate equipment solutions for customer requirements
  • Work closely with the procurement team to source ancillary equipment and estimate costs for system subcomponents
  • Maintain accurate project information in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, Salesforce
  • Support order entry and inside engineering department providing all appropriate documentation
  • Provide ongoing technical support to customers, sales representatives, and OEM’s.
  • Support the development and maintenance of sales tools such as competitive analysis, presentations, specifications, and proposal templates
  • Demonstrate proficiency in product capabilities, features, benefits, and effectively select equipment suitable for various applications
  • Maintain competitive product knowledge regarding key market competitors
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create promotional and trade show materials

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related field
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication attributes
  • Participate in industry trade shows as required
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate across all functions both written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities of a time-sensitive nature.
  • Experience designing in CAD or SolidWorks
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, D365, or similar)
