Job Summary:
Gray Media is a growing multimedia company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and they are seeking an IT Engineer for KCBD NewsChannel 11 in Lubbock, Texas. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing studio and editing equipment, as well as computer systems, with responsibilities that include compliance with regulations and assisting in capital projects.
Responsibilities:
• Have good People Skills to work with the other Departments and personnel, along with the ability to fix any issue on the fly. Our engineering motto is no problem too big or small for us to handle.
• Have expert knowledge regarding equipment, IT technology, systems, and be able to step in and assist in emergencies.
• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications within the station. A good knowledge of VMware is a plus.
• Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and communication with departments regarding those regulations.
• Assist in the implementation of Capital Projects.
• Integration, maintenance, and operation of new and current equipment, including towers, transmitters, microwave, satellite, IT, and tenant installations.
• Must be able to install and remove rack equipment weighing 25-50 pounds with the help of another employee.
• Have working knowledge of the latest operating systems software, including automation, server, and desktop operating systems. Linux is a plus.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Must have knowledge of the engineering aspects of the technical facility, including studio support, post editing systems, field production support, and transmission of live / Vmix / OBS events and programs.
Preferred:
• A degree in IT/Broadcast engineering or a related field/experience is preferred.
• Tanium experience is a plus.
• A good knowledge of VMware is a plus.
• Linux is a plus.
