POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an eager-to-learn Application Engineer to join a dynamic and customer-focused environment. The position will be a key liaison between the technical offerings and customer needs through analyzing and solving customer problems. They will identify new growth and product development opportunities. This position will include a heavy collaboration with newly formed business development team focusing on growing market adjacencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Expertise meets Customer Engagement:
  • Provide technical application support to customers and the outside sales and business development organization, including identifying solutions, compiling technical information, and preparing test reports to meet project requirements.
  • Evaluate current and emerging sensor technologies from an applications perspective to understand advantages and limitations. Identify applicable sensor technologies to satisfy customer needs.
  • Stay up to date with emerging industry trends, new market opportunities, and competitive technological advancements.
  • Participate in customer visits, prepare presentation materials, and develop strategic account relationships.
  • Develop product conceptual designs and proposals for customer application viability.

Collaborative Partnerships:
  • Travel to customer locations to deliver on-site support for existing business while developing new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to ensure alignment between customer needs and product roadmaps.
  • Provide customer feedback to drive product enhancements and innovation strategies.

Market Insight and Industry Awareness:
  • Work closely with new business leadership to identify new market opportunities and develop customer-valued solutions.
  • Collaborate with business development to grow our portfolios in data centers, food and beverage, industrial equipment, and adjacent markets.
  • Engage in product management workshops in providing key customer application insights, technical requirements, and trends.

PREFERRED PROFILE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, etc.) required.
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in B2B sales engineering, technical consulting, or related roles preferred.
  • Technical expertise in glass to metal hermetic sealing technology a plus.
  • Knowledge of data center, food and beverage, or industrial equipment a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex customer challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools to track interactions, manage leads, and drive sales processes preferred.
  • A passion for technology and a drive to continuously learn and adapt to new trends.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, or equivalent productivity suites
  • Travel at least 20% for customer visits and trade shows.
