About the Role
As a Product Applications Engineer at Analog Devices (ADI), you will create tools that assist customers in integrating ADI products into their designs. You will provide innovative, practical, and timely solutions to customer issues while developing a comprehensive system-level understanding of application segments. In this role, you'll work collaboratively within cross-discipline teams to bring new products to market, applying your technical expertise to solve real-world challenges and support customers in maximizing the potential of ADI technology.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation audio experiences. Your responsibilities include:
  • Customer engagements throughout the product development cycle-from concept to launch-debugging issues and resolving problems in our application and/or FPGA labs.
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (Marketing, Design, Software, Field Applications) and with external partners to deliver complete system solutions.,
  • Deep understanding of market use cases to solve application-level challenges in hearable devices such as TWS earbuds and over-the-head headsets
  • Translate customer needs into solutions, thinking expansively and using a wide lens to capture both immediate and future requirements
  • Support verification and validation efforts, including pre-silicon (FPGA systems) and post-silicon testing, to guarantee compliance with requirements
  • Develop evaluation kits, system designs, and customer-facing collateral such as application notes and demos
  • Create compelling demos for customer visits and tradeshow events
  • Provide technical communication and support during customer engagements to ensure success

Desired requirements/Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Have a Bachelor's or Master's in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, 4+ years of experience in application engineering role
  • Experience with ARM/DSP/FPGA/BT/Arduino platforms is a plus

Technical Expertise (knowledge of)
  • Signal processing, FFTs, audio algorithms
  • Experience with DSP cores and ARM cores is an advantage especially if Audio focused
  • A keen interest in mixed signal electronics, from both a hardware & software perspective.
  • Testing and debugging techniques, with proficiency in tools such as oscilloscopes and Wave Form Generators
  • Knowledge of software languages including C/C# and Python.

Soft Skills & Attributes
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong team player
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in a multifaceted, cross-functional team with a start-up culture
  • Enthusiastic about consumer technology, especially in the audio market segment
  • Ability to travel up to 10% globally (U.S., Europe, Asia)

Additional Knowledge (beneficial but not required)
  • PCB development flow (schematic, layout, manufacturing)
  • Hardware protocols such as I2C, SPI
  • Audio protocols such as TDM, PDM, I2S
  • Experience with ADI's SigmaDSPs and SigmaStudio software
  • Familiarity with software development tools and flows (e.g., Git, JIRA, Jenkins)
  • Exposure to machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Caffe, PyTorch)
  • Mixed-signal audio chains, specifically analog audio architecture (e.g., ADC, PGA, Class D amplifiers) and performance metrics (e.g., SNR, THD)
  • Battery management and power topologies for efficient low-power hearables
  • Bluetooth and wireless protocols, including Wi-Fi and UWB
