Job Description:
We are looking for an application engineer to perform Linux server system administration functions to support our customer. This includes: Stand up, configure, and maintain Linux servers; Monitoring and patching/upgrades to Linux servers and AWS instances; Assist and incorporate security compliance controls as applicable;  Support documentation of non-applicable controls; Assist with installation of new or replacement hardware or software; Configure and integrate hardware or software with existing networked infrastructure; Assist with decommission and/or removal of obsolete, excess, or replaced hardware; and Document inventory changes.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 6 years experience in software development/engineering
  • Proficient with Linux. Minimum of 3 years Linux server administration experience (within the last 3 years).
  • Proficient with AWS. Minimum of 1 year of AWS experience (within the last year).
  • Proficient with Ansible. Minimum of 1 year of Ansible experience (within the last year)
  • Experience with patching and upgrading Linux servers and AWS instances.
  • Security+ certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Should have working knowledge, able to use and or support, with some (preferably most) of the following resources and tools.
    • Linux servers
    • AWS
    • Ansible
    • Docker, Kubernetes
    • Elasticsearch, Splunk
    • Scripting (bash, Python)
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field (w/o degree additional 2 yrs experience required; with Masters Degree 2 yrs less experience required)
