Job Description:

The Application Support and Automation Analyst will provide Tier 2/3 support and lead automation delivery across multiple enterprise engineering platforms. The role combines hands-on technical work, including Python-based automation, DXL audit scripting, platform customization through Jenkins pipelines, and REST API-driven audits and reporting, with delivery leadership responsibilities such as sprint planning, task estimation, code review, and resource coordination. They independently manage the full lifecycle of automation initiatives while maintaining service quality and SLA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for IBM DOORS, Jira, Siemens Polarion, and TMSD (C# internal application).

  • Develop Python automation scripts using the Jira SDK to automatically fulfill service requests.

  • Customize Siemens Polarion using Python scripts and Jenkins pipeline integrations.

  • Write DXL scripts to audit IBM DOORS data for compliance and quality reporting.

  • Build Python REST API scripts to audit enterprise engineering platforms and persist results to a database.

  • Administer Jira and Jira Service Management, including workflows, automation rules, SLAs, and portal configuration.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

  • Lead sprint planning activities, including task creation, story point assignment, progress tracking, and delivery management.

  • Conduct code reviews for all automation deliverables before production deployment.

  • Document procedures, scripts, and configurations.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in application support, platform engineering, or a technical lead role.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Python (Jira SDK, REST APIs), Groovy, DXL, Bash, and basic C#.

  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Jira Service Management administration and customization.

  • Practical experience with Jenkins pipeline configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with IBM DOORS and Siemens Polarion support and customization.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and database operations for operational reporting.

  • Strong Agile delivery skills, including sprint planning, estimation, and backlog grooming.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • ITIL, PMP, or Atlassian certifications are considered an asset.

  • Advanced DXL scripting for IBM DOORS audits and workflow automation.

  • Experience with Polarion ALM customization using Python and Jenkins in an enterprise environment.

  • Agile or ITSM certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe, ITIL v4).

  • Experience managing resources across distributed or global teams.

  • Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, Groovy, DXL (DOORS), or similar technologies.

  • Experience and knowledge of Platform Engineering.

  • Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Base Salary Range:$84,000 - $127,000
