This individual Provides executive-level product, technical, and strategic leadership across Ingram Content Group's software engineering, software architecture, data engineering, and artificial intelligence teams. Accountable for the full technology product lifecycle, from design and development through deployment, operations, and continuous improvement, ensuring that platforms and products deliver measurable business outcomes. Partners with senior business leaders to define and execute platform roadmaps that advance ICG's competitive position in the global book supply chain. Translates complex technical strategy into clear business value and drives organizational alignment across a matrixed engineering portfolio

The ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role managing diverse engineering teams in a matrix organization
  • 8 years of experience with at least 2 of the following languages: C++, Java, C#, Ruby, Angular, Bootstrap, Python
  • 8 years of experience with SOA, integration, big data management including MDM.
  • 5 years of experience with SaaS based products, including product and engineering experience
  • 5 years of experience with Business Intelligence, Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Predictive / Prescriptive Analytics

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and maintains the technical strategy and architectural vision of the organizations software development and/or engineering functions.
  • Plans and leads development of new software and/or product enhancements.
  • Evaluates technical feasibility, design optimization and production issues.
  • Partners with business to identify new solutions and/or improvements to existing solutions to yield measurable business value.
  • Works to resolve issues articulated by management or other teams and ensure the resulting software meets the organizations standards of quality and performance.
  • Leads the development of software plans and schedules ensuring on-time delivery of all scheduled milestones and requirements.
  • Directs the analysis and preparation of systems feasibility studies, design of new systems and programs, and revision of existing systems and programs.
  • Directs coding, testing, installation and maintenance of all business and scientific applications programs.
  • Develops systems design standards and quality control standards for engineers.
  • Develop, budget, and execute comprehensive roadmaps assigned to application/software teams
  • Directly manages, mentors, and leads technology managers and their engineering associates
  • Interfaces regularly with key customers to develop a deep understanding of customer needs - both articulated and unarticulated
  • Works with external third parties to assess partnership opportunities and external requirements
  • Facilitate development of the core positioning and messaging for the applications/software
  • Partners with peer leaders to advance responsible AI and machine learning adoption, contributing to governance frameworks for model use, data quality, and ethical deployment.
  • Leads the data engineering function, including the enterprise data platform (lakehouse architecture, data pipelines, and data products), ensuring trusted, high-quality data supports operational and analytical needs.
  • Owns and advances the engineering culture, including developer experience, AI-assisted development tooling, engineering productivity metrics, and talent practices that attract and retain high-performing technologists.
  • Constructs and presents compelling technology investment cases to executive audiences, translating engineering strategy into business impact terms including ROI, risk, and competitive differentiation.
  • Monitors the evolving technology landscape, including AI/ML, cloud, and industry trends, and integrates relevant developments into the engineering strategy and roadmap with appropriate speed and discipline.
