We are seeking a skilled Application Product Analyst / Tester to join our team. This role will involve testing and validating enterprise applications, supporting change requests ranging from production fixes to major system enhancements, and collaborating with business and technical teams to ensure high-quality system delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in manual and automated testing, master data test planning, test data management, and business process analysis, along with a passion for delivering reliable, user-focused solutions within public sector and social services systems.

Job Description:

The Application Product Analyst / Tester will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of applications supporting programs such as Child Welfare, Child Care Assistance, Food Assistance, Family Investment Program, Medicaid, and Child Support. This role combines hands-on testing responsibilities with light business analysis and documentation efforts.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Perform comprehensive testing activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), functional, regression, and usability testing.
  • Validate application functionality against business and technical specifications using manual testing methods and automated regression testing suites.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated regression test scripts.
  • Create and maintain master data test plans to support system validation efforts.
  • Write scripts and procedures to generate, manage, and maintain test data, environments, and regions.
  • Independently plan, schedule, and execute UAT activities using risk-based testing approaches.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation within designated knowledge management tools or study libraries.
  • Support business process redesign initiatives, helping stakeholders assess how system enhancements improve workflow and functionality.
  • Assess the impact of technology changes on business processes and user roles.
  • Validate “to-be” business processes and ensure documentation accurately reflects implemented changes.
  • Interpret and analyze business requirements, technical documentation, and system specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with development, QA, client-facing teams, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to clarify requirements and ensure accurate deployment of changes into production.
  • Extract and document business rules embedded in third-party tools and system utilities.
  • Prepare documentation describing data transformations for individual data elements across defined timeframes (daily, weekly, monthly).

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects in enterprise environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in manual testing and automated regression testing.
  • 5+ years of experience creating master data test plans and managing test data.
  • Strong ability to review, analyze, and interpret business and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using third-party tools and system utilities (minimum 3 years).
  • Ability to visualize and propose solutions that span multiple systems and platforms.
