Job description

Are you ready to join a growing team?

CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Engineer II - Performance Engineer opening for our client.

Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance tests for web, API, mobile, cloud, and distributed applications.
  • Create performance test scripts using LoadRunner Cloud, LoadRunner Professional/VuGen, JMeter, and C.
  • Develop workload models, test plans, performance benchmarks, and reports.
  • Analyze results using Dynatrace/APM tools to identify bottlenecks and performance issues.
  • Support performance engineering, load testing, stress testing, scalability testing, capacity planning, and resiliency testing.
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, database, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to resolve performance issues.
  • Promote shift-left performance testing and integrate performance testing into Agile/DevOps and CI/CD processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
Scope of Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a technical performance engineering resource supporting enterprise applications and platforms.
  • Identify performance risks and provide data-driven recommendations to improve scalability, reliability, and application performance.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
  • No direct supervisory responsibility; provides technical guidance and mentoring as needed.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software testing, performance testing, or performance engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with OpenText Core Performance Engineering (LoadRunner Cloud) or LoadRunner Enterprise.
  • Required experience with LoadRunner/VuGen, JMeter, C programming, performance testing, workload modeling, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps, SDLC, web applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
Education and Experience Preferred:
  • BlazeMeter, Azure Load Testing, AWS, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
  • CI/CD performance testing, cloud performance engineering, Kubernetes, database performance, and mobile performance testing.
  • Financial services or regulated industry experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
