The Collections & Cash Application Manager is responsible for overseeing the collection of late payments, and the posting, application and coding of incoming payments from customers.

SUMMARY:
The Collections & Cash Application Manager is responsible for overseeing the collection of late payments, and the posting, application and coding of incoming payments from customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a team of collection specialists who follow current collection guidelines when collecting on delinquent customers while working through disputes with internal teams such as sales, commercial, customer service, operations, among others.
  • Manage a team of cash application specialists who are responsible for posting, applying and coding incoming payments & customer credit/debit memos along with any corresponding electronic or manual remittance advice from customers.
  • Prepare weekly collection reports and workflow for the collection specialists.
  • Prepare weekly cash collection reports and workflow for the cash application specialists.
  • Drive past dues down while measuring progress on defined KPIs.
  • Report excessively delinquent customer accounts to the Director of Credit & Collections.
  • Manage excessively delinquent customer accounts with credit hold.
  • Collaborate with multiple levels of management including Finance, Sales, Commercial, Customer Service, IT & Operations on problematic issues arises from customers interactions.
  • Effectively select, develop, coach, empower and motivate the team to ensure growth in their scope of responsibility and accountability for operational excellence.
  • Evaluate existing systems/processes to reduce complexity and increase process efficiency.
  • Assist Director of Credit & Collections with month end close, internal & external audits, ERP audits and special projects when needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 6+ years of commercial credit & collections experience required.
  • 1 year supervisory experience.
