Pay: $31.83 plus $4.00 for shift differential

Shift: 3rd shift, 12 hour shift, 4/3/4 schedule

Job Summary

Maintain and repair mechanical/electrical/boiler systems within a manufacturing environment; execute capital projects (installation, dismantling of equipment) and other various maintenance tasks throughout the facility with key knowledge of the equipment and minimum supervision. Expected hours of work 40 hours a week with a varied shift schedule 8-10 hours shifts with occasional overtime and weekend hours. No travel required.

This is a fully onsite position. The employee is expected to be physically present at their designated work location during scheduled hours. In-person attendance is essential for collaboration, access to onsite resources, and the performance of job responsibilities. Employees mustcomply withall site-specific safety, security, and conduct policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair.
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specific procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production needs.
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or maintenance.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate
  • Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work areas.
  • Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
  • Performing ongoing preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
  • Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, And departmental policies, procedures, and standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS)
  • Articulate to vendors/engineer's machine issue to resolve technical
  • Assist with basic electronics/ Programmable Logic Controls troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of measuring gauges such as tape measures
  • Knowledge of various hand and power tools
  • Certified to operate a forklift
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to obtain Boiler Operator Certification
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful
  • Ability to use hand& portable tools, gas and arc welder, forklift, pickup truck, testing equipment, tape measure, computer (shop floor and ERP).

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • Education - High School diploma or GED
    • Two to Three (2-3) years related maintenance
    • Previous experience in the following maintenance areas preferred: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler.
    • Mechanical background with rotating Hydraulic and pneumatic. Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
