Job description

Company Overview:
  • Located in Las Vegas, NV, AMS is a leading manufacturer specializing in state-of-the-art hinge technology. We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist & Programmer to join our dynamic team.
  • The successful candidate will be instrumental in manufacturing components used in aircraft and other industrial applications.

Role Overview:
  • As a CNC Machinist & Programmer at AMS, you will be tasked with crafting and executing software programs that control CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines.
  • These machines perform critical machining operations on metal to create precise components.
  • Your expertise in using CAD models and CAM software, such as MasterCam, will drive the efficient and safe production of high-quality parts.

Shifts Available: Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am; Contract Work available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and interpret job orders, CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Calculate optimal material cutting paths and establish the sequence of machining operations.
  • Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures to maximize production efficiency.
  • Run First Article Inspection reports.
  • Develop and generate CNC program code using CAM software, ensuring alignment with design and operational requirements.
  • Perform simulations and tests to validate machining processes and adjust parameters as needed.
  • Conduct thorough quality control tests and inspections, including first-article inspections and final reviews before shipment.
  • Maintain and update quality documentation related to production and shipments.
  • Collaborate with management, quality control, and production teams to enhance machining processes and outputs.
  • Ensure all completed parts meet quality standards and specifications, preparing detailed reports for management and quality consultants as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist and programmer, ideally within the aerospace or industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Strong capability in programming and operating CNC machines, including 3-axis programming and using MasterCAM software.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting 2D and 3D blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with operating CNC machinery and handling tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work within designated timelines.

Additional Requirements:
  • Candidates must be capable of conducting and approving first article inspection reports.
  • Experience with various testing and calibration methodologies, including hardness, gauge, and calibration testing.
