PABCO Gypsum, a division of PABCO Building Products LLC, has provided quality gypsum board products and service for over 35 years.  PABCO Gypsum supplies a complete line of gypsum products for commercial and residential construction.

Industrial Machinist / Mechanic

Here at our Las Vegas location, we make Gypsum Wallboard. Your job as an Industrial Machinist/Mechanic is responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, setting up, and operating a variety of manual machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders) to produce precision metal and plastic parts.  The ideal candidate ensures high-quality output by performing in-process inspections, following safety regulations, and maintaining equipment for optimal performance.

What's the work Schedule?

  • Regular schedule: Monday - Friday 7 am to 3 pm with potential after hours calls

What's the pay rate?

  • Pay range $32.88 - $38.64 depending on experience

What's the Job?

  • Fabricates machinery parts using a lathe.
  • Performs plant inspections daily and checks work log for daily projects and repairs.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses needed repairs.
  • Repairs all equipment and machinery assigned in a timely and safe manner.
  • Clean and lubricate parts, equipment and/or machinery. 
  • Assist in routine and scheduled maintenance on equipment to maintain up time.
  • Assist in inventory existing parts and report use for reorder.
  • Blueprint interpretation: Analyze, interpret, and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD/CAM files or sample parts to determine specifications, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Machine setup & operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, drill presses and grinders.
  • Production & Precision: Perform machining operations such as turning, milling drilling, shaping, and grinding to produce parts with strict tolerances (often +/- .0001 inch).
  • Quality inspection: Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators) to verify that finished workpieces meet design specifications.
  • Tooling & work holding: Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces on machines.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine maintenance on machines, including lubrication and cleaning, and adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

You and your experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Two (2) or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Regular attendance is required.
