Job description

Mathtech is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Web Application Developer Intern to join our company.

This role provides hands-on experience supporting, maintaining, and adding functionality to an internally developed Laravel application. The ideal candidate is familiar with Laravel, or similar model-view-controller framework.
The web application is the responsibility of the IT department. You will report to IT manager, who will be responsible for providing you guidance, and will assign you web application maintenance tasks.
This is an onsite internship based out of our Falls Church, VA office and offers an excellent opportunity for learning and professional growth. You will receive mentorship from experienced IT professionals and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment, with exposure to real-world systems, tools, and projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Fix bugs.
  • Refactor code.
  • Improve web app user interface and experience.
  • Add functionality to the web application.
  • Develop web app documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Model-View-Controller framework.
  • Working knowledge of PHP
  • Basic understanding of SQL database.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Windows and Linux command line.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)
