Job description

About the Position The City of Saint Paul Public Works Department is hiring a Civil Engineer I in Street Engineering and Construction to perform entry-level professional engineering in the investigation, design, inspection, operation, construction or maintenance of streets, alleys, sewers, bridges, and other Public Works projects. Here's what you can expect to do: Research project history and collect information regarding project. Create computer aided draft drawings for construction plans, standard details, concept layouts, project maps, and other records.

Coordinate with others internally and externally to promote project development. Assist with cost estimate and scheduling for project managers. Perform field walk and investigate existing project conditions during scoping and design.

Inspect construction projects under supervision of experienced field staff. Produce prints, roll plots, plans, and other presentation materials. Assist with public engagement, customer services, and meeting materials for project managers.
