Job description

As a Manger of IT Development in our Miramar Operations Center, You'll oversee the IT Application Development team, responsible for developing and enhancing software applications that enable Space Coast Credit Union to conduct business ensuring that end users receive the best-in-class technical experience. The primary responsibilities for the role is to manage the IT Application Development's team resources, workload, and delivery of our software applications.

Manger of IT Development Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the resources and activities of the IT Application Development team comprised of on and off-shore technical professionals responsible for providing software solutions for SCCU's custom built and vendor provided applications.
  • Develop, maintain and execute on an IT Roadmap that will effectively forecast and meet the business' needs.
  • Understand key stakeholder's needs, features, and functionality and provide technical solutions that will address their software application needs.
  • Manage and execute project plans to deliver commitments with quality within the agreed upon timelines and budgets.
  • Work with project management to ensure accurate project status is provided regularly, risks are anticipated and mitigated, and issues are raised and addressed quickly.
  • Staff projects with the appropriate technical talent, track progress, and provide guidance and direction to help remove impediments and meet project milestones and timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement by utilizing metrics and team feedback to identify and improve software engineering practices, processes, development and delivery.
  • Provide coaching, technical direction, supervision and development of the IT Application Development team.
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to set objectives, review their workload and performance. Provide mentorship and support to help them achieve their career development goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated project management leading or supervising systems/applications development team members utilizing proven SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile (Kanban, Scrum) overseeing the technology life cycle from requirements analysis, feasibility estimates, design, code, documentation, testing, implementation, and support.
  • Experience designing software for scalability, reliability, and performance using Microsoft Stack (.NET framework, MVC, ASP.NET, VB.Net, C#, React or Angular/Blazor, ASPX, WPF, WinForms), JSON, XML, SOAP, and relational database development (SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams within an organization
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • A deep understanding of the software development life-cycle, and a track record of shipping software on time
  • A passion for people management and mentorship

Education & Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field is required, ITIL certification strongly preferred.

Prior Experience:
  • 8-10 years of related experience required; 5 years of experience working directly within engineering teams, 3+ years of managing teams within a development organization, 5+ years developing and building scalable enterprise software engineers people management in a technology function to include 3 years of demonstrated leadership capabilities, demonstrated in a management role of IT Professionals in a Software Development/Engineering environment. Preferred experience managing both on-shore and off-shore development teams.

Manger of IT Development: Compensation
• Starting Compensation: $153,830 - $162,917 annually
