Job description

Monsignor Slade Catholic School, located in Glen Burnie, MD, is seeking a part-time lead teacher for our Part-Time PreK2 and Part-Time PreK3 classes at our Edu-Care Center. This is a 10-month position. Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong instructional experience, a nurturing approach to teaching, and a deep commitment to the social and academic development of young children.
Essential Functions
  • Provide grade-appropriate instructional programs for early childhood students that align with the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop lesson plans with clear objectives that are aligned with Archdiocesan standards.
  • Observe and assess student progress, maintain detailed records of student behavior and development, and share progress with parents.
  • Communicate with parents in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
  • Support the mission of the school and the Catholic Church through instructional practices and daily interactions.

Position Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; an undergraduate degree is preferred.
  • Successful completion of 6 semester hours, 90 clock hours, or the equivalent of approved pre-service training, or possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children in a child care center or school setting.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality, demonstrate professionalism, and work effectively as a team player.
