Position Overview: We are seeking a Software Application Developer to support our DoD team working on highly visible projects utilizing leading edge technologies.
About Us: Founded in 2003, Altus Engineering is a Maryland small business providing professional engineering services to the Department of Defense and industry customers. These include high-quality software development services, system modeling and simulation, scientific research, and performing engineering analysis of combat systems and personnel vulnerabilities. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding professional and technical services through building and empowering teams that will continue to grow with us.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain software applications to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful delivery.
  • Debug, test, and optimize software to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new systems and features.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies to improve development processes.

Qualifications/Desired Skills:
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Equivalent applicable experience can be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Foundational programming knowledge and experience in:
  • Three (3) or more years of Object-Oriented Programming experience (e.g., C++, Java, PHP)
  • Three (3) or more years of Agile software development process experience
  • Three (3) or more years of web-based programming experience
  • Unix and Windows® operating systems experience

  • Exposure to varied Integrate Development Environments (IDEs) and development frameworks.
  • Understanding of Continuous Implementation/Continuous Development (CI/CD) processes.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms.
