Job description

Reverse Engineer, Mission Software Development

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

At Intelliforce, we build mission software for environments where adaptability, speed, and technical depth matter every day. In this role, you will work as both a reverse engineer and a general-purpose CNO software engineer, helping design, develop, prototype, modify, and integrate solutions that deliver mission-focused results. You will support both quick-reaction operational needs and longer development efforts, working closely with analysts, operators, data scientists, and other engineers to turn complex mission needs into real capabilities.

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out

This role gives you the chance to work across the full problem set, not only one slice of it. You will reverse engineer, develop software, build prototypes, support fielded systems, and provide technical guidance across different products and technologies. The work is fast-moving, varied, and closely tied to real mission outcomes. It is a strong fit for an engineer who likes solving hard problems, working across teams, and building tools that have to perform in real operational environments.

At Intelliforce, your work is visible and your technical judgment matters. Because we support prime programs, our teams stay close to meaningful mission work with real momentum. Because we are a small business, leadership is accessible, communication is direct, and strong engineering gets noticed. Add in long-term stability, strong benefits, and a people-first culture, and this becomes more than another reverse engineering role. It is a chance to build and improve capabilities that support the mission now, not someday.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Could Include

  • Augment existing toolsets to support evolving mission needs
  • Derive, document, and analyze technical and mission requirements
  • Build prototypes to demonstrate understanding of mission requirements
  • Produce end-to-end toolsets that operate within mission constraints
  • Provide technical consulting support across software products and technologies while advising customers on operational direction
  • Work closely with analysts, operators, data scientists, and software engineers to scope and deliver solutions
  • Support both quick-reaction operational efforts and longer development lifecycles
  • Participate in peer code reviews to reduce defects and improve overall software quality

Minimum Qualifications

  • Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas
  • 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree
  • Or 10 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
  • Four additional years of relevant Software Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Required Skills

  • Reverse engineering experience
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams including analysts, operators, and external development shops to deliver holistic software solutions
  • Ability to produce and modify software systems in C, C++, and Python
  • Ability to provide support for fielded software systems
  • Familiarity with Git and Subversion
  • Experience with Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, and Bamboo

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, or Rust
  • Experience developing CNO-specific software in Linux, Windows, or embedded applications
  • Experience with vulnerability research and exploit development
  • Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
  • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations

Compensation Range: $194,000.00 - $249,000.00
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
