Job Description:
SimIS in support of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land-Maritime Norfolk, provides on-call Program Management Office services (sustainment, modernization, cybersecurity, systems integration, engineering, and data analytics) for DLAโ€™s Material Operations Support (MOS) application for material procurement processes and shipyard operations. SimIS seeks a Senior Application Developer to design, build, and deliver innovative enterprise-scale software solutions. Working alongside Business Analysts, Systems Architects, and project teams, you will transform business requirements into powerful applications that drive mission success. Youโ€™ll develop and integrate web-based and mobile solutions using modern frameworks, tools, and APIs, contributing to both technical strategy and hands-on implementation for complex, high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop software based on requirements developed by Business Analysts to meet the business needs at the enterprise level.
  • Proficiently execute the work using the tools and techniques implemented for the project.
  • Work directly with Systems Architect to develop and implement new third party applications, tools, and programming libraries to meet the business development goals of the client.
  • Utilize web-based software such as Java, HTML, .NET, AngularJS, JavaScript, SOAP, REST API, mobile development, and Web Based API in the building of software applications.
  • 10% travel required.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of experience in application development.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.ย 
  • Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs) to support Low-Code/No-Code Development Platform models.
  • Experience developing application/process automation software based on BPMN models, experience using software tools such as Appian, Salesforce, Nintex, etc. with Microsoft SQL Server databases and Microsoft .NET development environment.
  • Experience in agile and hybrid low-code application development.
  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III (e.g. Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP, or CISM) REQUIRED
  • At minimum one advanced programming or dtabase certification (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, or similar) REQUIRED.
