JOB SUMMARY

A Regional Application Manager is expected to maintain and strengthen relationships with current Span Tech customers while also acquiring new ones through various prospecting activities. To be successful at this job, an individual must be highly motivated to succeed, have excellent people skills, be able to manage their time effectively, be goal oriented, mechanically inclined and be willing to travel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Achieve company, department, and individual sales goals.
  • Communicate knowledge of Span Tech products and material handling concepts to our customers to help solve their needs in the most efficient way possible.
  • Demonstrates products and emphasizes salable features.
  • Constantly working sales leads or prospects assigned or leads based on information from news sources, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, web sites, and other sources.
  • Effectively use listening skills to determine prospect's needs while educating them on how Span Tech can meet these needs.
  • Quotes pricing, credit terms and prepares sales information to obtain purchase orders.
  • Have knowledge of all current information pertaining to any assigned accounts. This would include basic contact information as well as any past projects and any current or future needs the customer may have.
  • Follow up customer/prospect request for assistance, literature, price quotes, etc. to establish a high level of professionalism and customer service. It is important that our customers know that we care, and excellent customer service will show that.
  • Monitor the progress of customer's current projects. Be able to get updates from the assigned Application Engineer. Make any necessary phone calls to clients regarding updates, production issues, shipping, etc.
  • Receive and return customer inquiries in a prompt and professional manner. Understanding and strengthening existing relationships is a key to our long-term success.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our customer's purchasing and/or finance department contacts.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving customer issues and communicating in a timely manner any unresolved customer issues to Sales Manager.
  • Continually maintain and update in a timely manner all information in Salesforce.
  • Understand assembling and disassembling conveyor systems in a timely manner.
  • Work with Marketing teams to keep product, customer and marketing activities and literature up to date.
  • Assist in the coordination of customer training with customers and Training Manager.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to visit regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or discuss new projects.
  • Require to timely report all expenses.
  • Required to travel and visit customers and attend trade shows. At times, travel may be extensive.
  • Required to entertain customers and prospects periodically.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
