Position Summary:

Responsible for the product application engineering to meet the target of engineering cost, quality and timing.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities outlined in the job description are to be used as a guideline and are not meant to be all-inclusive of the essential functions of the position. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

  • According to regulations, customer requirements, quotation assumptions, and JSS  product strategy, determine the product concept.
  • Design the product shape and structure, and use tools FMEA and DRBFM to analyze the potential failure of the design, and take preventive measures to avoid the failure;
  • Attend the design review, to ensure the product meets the target of performance, project schedule, cost and other objectives. Summarize L&L, patent, competitive analysis, combined with theoretical knowledge, and optimize the products design.
  • Responsible for the analysis and solution of quality issues in DV stage, including supplier quality, product design problems, etc.
  • Support the core engineering to research and develop scientific and effective product development verification methods, to improve the efficiency and quality of product development.
  • According to the customers' needs and VAVE projects, complete the related VAVE engineering development work.
  • Support the process planning of production line; Participate in quality analysis to solve quality issues.
  • According to the experience of customers and product development, participate in the work of new business quotation.
  • Support relevant departments to develop relevant suppliers and improve their capabilities according to the business development plan and needs.
  • Create the QTP (Qualification Test Plan) according to legal and customer specifications.
  • Planning / tracking of the testing program
  • Analysis of test reports
  • Communication with the customer about test requirements and test results.

  • Complete all the online and/or onsite training scheduled in your location related to ethics and compliance topics.
  • Become familiar with Joyson Safety Systems ' Ethics and Compliance Policies.
  • Report to your Supervisor, the Executive Committee, the Compliance Department, or any of the available resources any possible violation of the Laws, the Code of Conduct, or the Company's Policies.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data and information related to your job position and department.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
  • Detailed knowledge on automotive product development
  • Familiar in tools such as APQP/PPAP, FMEA, GD&T, DRBFM, 8D
  • Excellent communciation skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years experience in application engineering, specifically in Seat Belts/Restraints
