Summary of Position Functions
The Application Engineer II will quickly gain an understanding and working knowledge of Veregy’s technology products, software services, and building automation systems. The engineer will utilize this understanding to design, implement, and optimize software packages that control various operational systems in commercial facilities. The engineer will integrate software systems with solar assets, facility use calendars, automation systems, and utility cost management solutions.

Essential Position Functions

  • Assists engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of Veregy’s software solutions.
  • Writes and optimizes connectors to automate facility tasks to reduce energy consumption and increase efficiency.
  • Writes and optimizes electrical demand management strategies and reports on performance.
  • Assists project teams with the creation of design and construction documents as they relate to Veregy’s software solutions.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage circuitry and metering and verify functional requirements are met.
  • Responds to and rectifies customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely manner.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or three+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years in building automation system design and implementation required.

  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge Proficient in Microsoft Office products and experience with at least one CAD or 3D modeling software, is required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
