The department will be hiring (2) ES Application Developer II or III.

ES Application Developer II

Analyzes, develops, modifies, and provides technical expertise for enterprise application systems and programs utilizing core and non-core technologies, under minimal supervision.

Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, modifies and troubleshoots enterprise application systems and ad-hoc programs in accordance with standards.
  • Analyzes complex enterprise application processes and integrated computer systems and their underlying data structures; identifies and resolves problems.
  • Defines, analyzes and documents business processes, practices and requirements for enterprise application systems.
  • Assists users in testing business processes; defines, conducts and monitors system test procedures.
  • Documents tables, data structures, run streams, and programs according to generally accepted practices.
  • Develops technical documents pertaining to enterprise application system design and programming requirements; develops user manuals.
  • Uses core technologies to design, code, test, debug, modify and troubleshoot enterprise application systems.
  • Stays abreast of new technologies and techniques.

Additional Posting Information

Minimum 2 years of development and maintenance experience in data warehouse/business intelligence.

This position is a critical technical role within the PeopleSoft HRMS team, responsible for managing and implementing all system-level technical changes. The individual in this role serves as the central point of ownership for development, customization, retrofits, and ongoing system enhancements, ensuring that the application remains stable, compliant, and aligned with business needs.
