Job description

Many structural heart patients suffer from heart failure with limited options. Our Implantable Heart Failure Management (IHFM) business's AI, Product and Platforms organization is at the forefront of addressing these unmet patient needs through pioneering technology that enables early, targeted therapeutic intervention. Our innovative solutions are not just transforming patient care but also creating a unique and exciting environment for our team members. It is our driving force to help patients live longer and healthier lives. Join us and be part of our inspiring journey.

As a Senior Application Developer, Business Systems, you lead the design and delivery of complex business applications across IHFM's web and Salesforce platforms. You are the senior hands-on builder on the team: you architect solutions end to end, set the patterns others follow, take on the hardest technical problems yourself, and mentor developers, all while staying deep in the code. Business Systems operates as a dedicated team parallel to the IHFM product development teams; its focus is the commercial and enterprise systems that run the business, not product or device software.

Based in Irvine, CA, you\'ll join a high-impact medtech innovation hub in the heart of Orange County, collaborating in person with cross-functional teams to shape patient-focused technology.

How you\'ll make an impact

  • Lead design and development of complex, full-stack solutions across web applications (React or Angular front ends, backend services, APIs) and the Salesforce platform
  • Architect integrations and data flows across enterprise systems, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Set technical patterns, standards, and best practices for the team; own key technical decision
  • Personally build and validate the hardestcomponents, andprove out new approaches and tooling
  • Mentor developers through code review, pairing, and design guidance
  • Partner with analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous problems into working technical solutions.
  • Own quality, security, and validation across deliverables (CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, andGxPas applicable)

What you\'ll need (Required):

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on full-stack development, including significant Salesforce development
  • Deep proficiency across a modern front-end framework (React or Angular), backend services, and API design
  • Strong Salesforce development expertise (Apex, Lightning Web Components, and integrations), including awareness of governor limits and platform architecture
  • Proven delivery of complex applications and integrations end to end
  • Experience mentoring developers and setting technical direction while remaining hands-on

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Advanced Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer II, application or system architect credentials)
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architecture, or middleware (e.g., MuleSoft)
  • Cloud architecture and CI/CD depth (AWS, Azure, DevOps)
  • Experience in MedTech, Life Sciences, or other regulated industries, including CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, orGxP
  • A track record of introducing tools, patterns, or practices that raised team quality or velocity

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families. For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $108,000 to $153,000 (highly experienced).
