This position is subject to include additional salary adjustment to meet industry standards according to the current Association of Higher Education Collective Bargaining Agreement and Memorandums of Understanding.
Olympic College is recruiting a full-time tenure track Technical Design Faculty to join the team at the college's Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) campus, in downtown Bremerton. Courses will include Technical Drawing, Solid Edge, AutoCAD and Project Management, and possibly additional courses.

Essential Functions
  • Teach primarily Technical Drawing, Solid Edge, AutoCAD and Project Management, and possibly additional courses;
  • Collaborate with PSNS & IMF trade faculty to provide Apprentices and Helpers with relevant, up-to-date training and skills;
  • Teach evening, distance, and branch campus courses when required;
  • Provide quality teaching including related preparation, grading, and record keeping;
  • Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes by the first day of classes and to the division office as requested;
  • Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities;
  • Provide student advising for career/academic pathways, mentoring, and support;
  • Contribute to development of composition curriculum and student learning outcomes;
  • Contribute to the assessment of student learning outcomes annually;
  • Punctual communication with students, faculty, staff and administrators;
  • Maintain physical office hours for student consultation;
  • Attend faculty, department and division meetings and serve on college committees;

  • Serve on appropriate college and community committees;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Technical Design or a related field
  • Industry experience in drafting or technical design
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Proficient in CAD and other technical drawing software

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in education or a relevant technical field
  • Experience working in an industrial environment
  • College teaching experience
  • Expertise in AutoCAD, Solid Edge, Solid Works, and Project Management
