Job Title: Configuration Technician
Job Description

The Configuration Technician stages, programs, and troubleshoots software solutions to ensure mobile devices, RFID systems, and point-of-sale (POS) hardware are fully configured and ready for deployment. This role serves as a critical link between procurement and field operations by diagnosing and resolving software deployment, network connectivity, and hardware issues while maintaining accurate records and supporting continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Stage and configure mobile devices, RFID systems, and point-of-sale (POS) hardware so that they are fully prepared for customer deployment.
  • Program and install software on a variety of devices, including downloading and installing required applications and updates.
  • Diagnose and resolve software deployment issues, including configuration errors and application conflicts.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems that affect device performance and deployment readiness.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and repairs on devices returned for service, including component replacement and basic soldering work.
  • Use test equipment to verify that repaired and configured devices meet performance and quality standards.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and accurate configuration and repair.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of devices, components, and materials used in configuration and repair activities.
  • Complete clear and detailed job reports documenting work performed, issues identified, and resolutions applied.
  • Track recurring hardware problems and share findings with procurement and related teams to support root cause analysis and improvements.

Work Environment

This role is based in a temperature-controlled facility with a bench repair technician style setting, where most work takes place at a workstation using tools, test equipment, and computers. The environment supports focused technical work, including device configuration, testing, and repair, in a structured and organized workspace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
