Application Architect
Location: On-Site - Arlington, VA
Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain DHS suitability clearance, as required by federal contract.
Summary:
The Application Architect will support DHS CISA in designing, integrating, and modernizing mission-critical applications. This role provides technical leadership in defining architecture standards, ensuring systems meet security requirements, and guiding development teams through implementation.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and document enterprise application architectures and integration strategies.
  • Lead system design to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and cloud engineers to align solutions with DHS mission needs.
  • Support modernization initiatives, including cloud migration and Zero Trust adoption.
  • Conduct technical reviews, validate solutions, and provide guidance on secure coding practices.
  • Prepare system documentation, architecture diagrams, and interface specifications.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in application design and architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise software design, system integration, and cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Gov).
