The growing Apple Ads engineering team is seeking an experienced, hands-on manager to lead our Apple Ads engineering team. The team is responsible for full stack, distributed systems software development that is used by advertisers and developers. This is a high visibility role in our mobile advertising space.
In this role you will lead a talented team of engineers focused on architecting, creating and delivering new capabilities to our Search advertising products. We are looking for a results-oriented and versatile leader who can excel in an Agile environment. You will work closely with product owners, leading a team of engineers to design, develop, and implement solutions, including leveraging open source, and building tools, frameworks, and components that will enable us to improve and scale our platform.
Description
You will lead a team of engineers adept at building massive distributed services at scale and with the highest quality to our customers. You will work closely with your peers and other engineering teams in across the globe to build and support the core capabilities of our Search advertising ecosystem. You will also partner closely with teams across Apple to deliver and support third party integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in advertising industry is a huge plus!
Knowledge of Compliance and/or Finance would be an advantage.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years hands-on technology management experience
10+ years of industry experience building scalable micro services and data driven platforms
Experience building SDKs, platforms and re-usable components
Strong computer science fundamentals, and hands-on experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java/Scala/C++)
Expertise in NoSQL datastores (e.g., Cassandra, Keyspaces, ElastiCache)
Proficiency in data processing technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink )
Experience building and scaling systems across on-premise, and hybrid cloud environments
Strong technical leadership skill with proven experience architecting, developing, releasing and supporting mission critical services
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal with technical and non-technical multi-functional teams
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering, or related field; experience designing, building, maintaining, and extending production ecosystems at scale.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $237,600 and $356,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
