Job Description Your IT Recruiter is helping Toyota Research Institute find a Robot Teacher to demonstrate new behaviors for its robots to learn.In this role, you'll be a key member of the team that does this instruction for the in-house robots. As a Robot Teacher, you will:
  • Control robots via teleoperation devices to demonstrate a rich, dexterous, and varied curriculum of behavior.
  • Coordinate with other members of the teaching team and with the larger group to continuously improve processes for teaching.
  • Be creative! Help design new, interesting, and difficult behaviors to teach the company's robots.
  • Bring a safety-first approach to working with robots.
Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via our client. This position will be onsite and available to candidates able to work 4 10-hour days (M-Thur) and who are local to the Los Altos, CA area. Requirements Familiarity with computers and a curiosity about robots
  • Physical dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, and familiarity with video games
  • Attention to detail and a focus on safety are critical
  • This role requires regular use of the Apple Vision Pro VR headset, and there are limits on the corrective lens inserts that can be produced; therefore, vision must meet the requirements for lens inserts
  • Prior expertise in robotics, Linux, or the command line is not necessary (though you'll gain some of these skills on the job)
