Job Title: Appian Developer

Position Overview:

Our client, a fast-growing Federal Integrator, is seeking a skilled Appian Developer with experience in Software Design, Development, Maintenance and Deployment in Web-based and Client Server Environments. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining Appian applications to support complex financial, acquisition and analytic data processes in a fast-paced multi-contractor environment. The ideal candidate will bring innovative solutions to complex problems, expertise in delivering scalable and efficient solutions and hold a valid Appian certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement business process management solutions using Appian BPM Suite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop Appian objects such as Records, Reports, SAIL interfaces, Process Models, and Web APIs.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing Appian applications for performance and scalability.
  • Integrate Appian applications with external systems and data sources.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including testing and deployment.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Provide technical documentation and user guides for developed solutions.
  • Create Tempo reports, Records, and business rules while troubleshooting issues.
  • Develop reusable toolkits for different BPM process applications.
  • Implement Timer Events, Message Events, and Tracking Events.
  • Design and develop SAIL Forms, Dashboards, Reports, Services, and Entity-Backed Reports.
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into process models.
  • Implement In-Bound and Out-Bound Web Service Components.
  • Capture proper business workflow requirements and provide solution specifications throughout all SDLC phases.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph or the ability to obtain one.
  • Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software design, development, maintenance, and deployment.
  • 3+ years of strong experience with Appian v24.4.X, Appian v20.X, and Appian v19.X.
  • Mandatory: Valid Appian certification (e.g., Appian Certified Associate Developer or higher).
  • Proficiency in SAIL, Appian Data Stores, and Process Models.
  • Strong understanding of Appian plug-ins and integration methods (REST, SOAP, Web Services).
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Appian RPA and Appian AI capabilities.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding financial processes is a plus.
