This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, coordinating receiving and shipping, monitoring product movement, and ensuring that apparel inventory is properly organized and accounted for.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing apparel, clothing, fashion, retail, wholesale, or other SKU-intensive inventory and understands the importance of inventory accuracy, organization, and timely product flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inventory operations for clothing and apparel products.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts across warehouse and/or retail locations.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing merchandise and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
  • Coordinate receiving, put-away, transfers, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and overages.
  • Track product movement and identify slow-moving, excess, or high-demand inventory.
  • Work closely with purchasing, sales, warehouse, and management teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Monitor SKU, size, color, style, and seasonal inventory.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly labeled, organized, and stored.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the company's inventory management, ERP, or warehouse management system.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Help improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and product availability.
  • Prepare inventory reports and provide management with updates regarding inventory levels and discrepancies.
  • Assist with seasonal inventory planning and product transitions.
  • Train and oversee inventory/warehouse personnel as needed.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe inventory/warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management or inventory control.
  • Apparel, clothing, fashion, footwear, retail, wholesale, or textile industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with a high volume of SKUs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, receiving, and product movement.
  • Experience using inventory management, ERP, WMS, or similar systems.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with other departments.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an apparel inventory professional who understands that clothing inventory requires close attention to style, size, color, SKU, seasonality, and product movement. You should be highly organized, comfortable working with large amounts of inventory data, and able to identify problems before they impact sales or operations.

Experience with apparel distribution, clothing wholesale, fashion retail, e-commerce fulfillment, or garment manufacturing is a major plus.
