Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate activities of raw material, intermediate goods, and finished products through forecasting, stock management, and coordination with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to meet demand while optimizing cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze sales forecasts, historical data, and market trends to predict material usage and finished goods demand.  Must collaborate with sales, planning and/or scheduling teams to reconcile forecasts with production schedules.

Estimate requirements for yarns, fabrics, dyes, and other raw inputs based on production orders and BOMS.  Use MRP systems (ERP/MIS) to generate production orders, monitor material lead times, and trigger replenishment.

Regularly review inventory levels, maintain optimal safety stock to avoid shortages and excess.  Coordinate cycle counts and annual inventory audits; investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective action. 

Monitor and adjust daily/weekly production schedules to meet delivery targets.  Act as liaison between production planning, purchasing, and logistics teams to track order status and inventory flow.

Maintain KPI dashboards: stock turnover, fill rate, days on hand, stockouts.  Prepare management reports and suggest improvements to optimize inventory investments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (cont.)

Support identification of bottlenecks, supply chain disruptions, or material delays. Support implementation of TPM manufacturing, JIT methods, and standardized SOPs.

Must be able to handle multiple SKUs, prioritizing critical POs, and meeting tight timelines.  As well as maintaining robust documentation and compliance with audit standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Batchelorโ€™s Degree from an accredited college in Supply Chain, Logistics, Textile Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field.  In addition, two to five yearsโ€™ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in supply chain, inventory planning or production planning in textile or apparel sector preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office or most current computer software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
