Job description

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager - Tech who is passionate about building world-class customer experiences beyond the Prime Video app. In this role, you'll own and shape the strategic direction for how millions of WW customers discover, engage with, and return to Prime Video through outbound marketing channels, messaging apps, and emerging AI surfaces.

You’ll obsess over the end-to-end customer experience — designing communication programs that feel premium, intuitive, and worthy of the Prime Video brand. You’ll develop a deep understanding of customer behavior across email, push notifications, WhatsApp, and new surfaces like AI platforms, then translate those insights into communication programs that feel timely, relevant, and delightful. You’ll be highly informed by data and experimentation but apply high judgment to anticipate where customer attention is shifting and position Prime Video to meet them there.

Key job responsibilities
  • Vision & Strategy: Drive the long-term vision and strategy for Prime Video's off-app customer experience — defining how we show up across outbound channels, conversational surfaces, and emerging AI platforms
  • Customer Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer lifecycle patterns, content consumption behaviors, and channel preferences to inform when, where, and how we reach customers
  • Leadership & Influence: Set the bar for product thinking across the team — mentor PMs, influence cross-org priorities, and represent the off-app experience perspective in senior leadership forums
  • Experience Design: Design and implement customer communication experiences that are premium, contextual, and consistent with the in-app experience — across email, push, WhatsApp, and new surfaces
  • Innovation: Pioneer new approaches to customer engagement across emerging surfaces including AI platforms, conversational interfaces, and agentic experiences — positioning Prime Video ahead of shifting customer behavior
  • Marketing Automation: Build and scale the systems and tooling that enable marketers to create, test, and optimize customer journeys without engineering dependency
  • Metrics & Experimentation: Define success metrics, build a robust experimentation roadmap, and drive continuous optimization across all channels and lifecycle stages
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, science, marketing, UX design, and business intelligence teams to bring experiences to market in a complex, fast-paced environment
About the team

Our vision is to establish Prime Video as the premium entertainment brand regardless of where customers engage with us. We meet customers where they are by expanding touchpoints across out-of-app surfaces, delivering compelling experiences that showcase our content and brand, and creating a seamless transition to stream. We contribute to the Prime Video vision by driving high-intent customer engagement into the Prime Video app and strengthening the Prime Video brand in off-app surfaces.

We oversee the Prime Video experiences across customer touchpoints off-app, including: organic & AI surfaces (traditional search and AI), conversational surfaces (WhatsApp), outbound (email and push notifications), A.com and social.

Basic Qualifications
  • 6+ years of end to end product delivery experience
  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience technical product management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
  • Experience in MarTech delivering customer facing products in marketing channels
