Job description

Position TitlePRN APP (Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant) - Trauma SurgeryJob DescriptionPurpose & Scope:

An Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) employed by VHC Health Physicians ("Physician Group") is required to complete an APP Agreement with their Collaborating Physician(s). This Agreement will describe the APP's role and function, APP/Physician Relationship, Functions of the APP, Privileges/Procedures, Prescriptive Authority, Documentation Responsibilities and Evaluation process.

Overall, the APP will support objectives, budget, performance metrics and medical activities at an Individual level including implementation of quality control standards, risk management and compliance programs.

Education:

Master's in Nursing Required or Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.

Experience:

Two Years Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions Required.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions Required for NPs.

Current NCCPA certification required; and BLS certification required; and

ACLS certification preferred for PAs.
