Since 1971 CMI has been providing quality design/build services in the Southern Maryland, DC and Virginia area. CMI General Contractors has provided high quality commercial design/build services for clients all over Southern Maryland, longer than any other commercial Design/Builder in the region. Our staff has over 300 years of combined construction experience and are second to none. Our typical design/build projects have included office buildings, religious & educational facilities, health & fitness centers, retail centers, warehouses, medical facilities, convenience stores, restaurants, fire stations, apartments, automotive sales, service facilities, build-outs and more.


At CMI, we are hiring an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to help grow our company. If you're dedicated and ambitious, CMI General Contractors is an excellent place to grow your career.


APM Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and maintain communications with client, architects, engineers, and sub-contractors.
  • Work with Superintendent to direct the building process on site and to maintain construction schedule.
  • Assist in schedule sequencing, tracking, and updating.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor invoices and assist in preparation of monthly payment requisitions.
  • Assist with change orders, RFIs, and PCOs.
  • Responsible for material tracking and on-time delivery assurance.
  • Job site documentation management.
  • Facilitate and attend meetings that are relevant to the successful completion of the job e.g., progress meetings, zoning meetings, etc.
  • Assist project managers with preconstruction processes.
  • Assist with development and management of project punch-lists.
  • Manage the inspection process as directed by Superintendent and/or Project Manager.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relative experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • 3-5 years of previous APM experience.
  • Proficiency in Procore, desired.
  • Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and able to prioritize duties to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
