This position requires maintaining current medical certifications, operating Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS), and delivering high-fidelity, scenario-based medical training in both classroom and field environments and is located in Bluffdale, Utah.
Essential Functions

- Instruct 68W Combat Medic sustainment training and CLS initial/sustainment training to non-medical personnel
- Conduct training in classroom, laboratory, and field training/evaluation environments
- Maintain proper instructor-to-student ratios per MEDCoE directives: Classroom lecture 1:24, Classroom practical exercise 1:6, Invasive procedures 1:1, Skills validation testing 1:1 per casualty
- Instruct mixed populations of Soldiers — both inexperienced and seasoned — in class sizes directed by the medical proponent
- Assess students' critical thinking and psychomotor skills under high-fidelity simulated conditions
- Support a projected minimum throughput of at least 2,500 68W students annually across all MSTC sites
Scenario Development & Execution
- Utilize approved scenario-based training per course Training Circulars or as approved by the medical proponent
- Apply moulage techniques, environmental control, and theatrical special effects to simulate realistic injuries and environments
- Assess students using grading sheets for individual scenarios
- Ensure all training content is approved by the appropriate medical proponent (MTN, Deployed Medicine, CMSD)
Simulation Operations
- Operate MSTC systems (ISS, VPS, MT-C2)
- Configure and execute realistic training scenarios
- Apply moulage and simulation effects
Training Evaluation & Reporting
- Contribute to Monthly Staffing Report (MSR) data as required
- Document and report accidents/incidents
- Maintain training records, student evaluations, and AAR documentation
Equipment Maintenance
- Operate and perform operator-level preventive maintenance on assigned patient simulators, manikins, medical training equipment
- Follow OEM instructions for handling MSTC equipment requiring extended service agreement repair
- Inventory and manage consumable items (skins, synthetic blood, PMCS kits)
- Notify the COR when consumables are required
- Initiate fielded equipment repair/condition status reports and keep the TOR and APM/COR apprised of equipment issues
- Notify the W-TRS maintainer (via ACA) for equipment failures outside extended service agreement coverage
Quality & Compliance
- Participate in Quality Control Plan (QCP) activities including peer observations, self-assessments, and After-Action Reviews (AARs)
- Maintain all certifications current throughout the contract — no lapsed credentials
- Complete annual TC 8-800 recertification (all tables)
- Participate in enterprise quality initiatives including instructor development programs and cross-site standardization
Competencies
- Experience reviewing documents, maintaining electronic files, and managing spreadsheets, tracking logs, suspense actions, or similar records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
- Strong organizational, data-entry, written communication, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple records and deadlines and communicate professionally with military, civilian, medical, recruiting, and contractor personnel.
