The Apis Hotel & Restaurant

The Apis Hotel & Restaurant is a multi-level concept featuring a full-service restaurant, multiple event spaces, a stunning rooftop bar, and 6 premium guestrooms. Opened in July of 2020, The Apis has been designed as a premier hospitality destination, located roughly halfway between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI, and just blocks from the shores of Lake Michigan.

The Apis Dishwasher

The Apis Dishwasher will work to help the BOH to execute smooth service through dish and equipment upkeep. The ideal candidate will be excited to be a part of the team and to uphold The Apis standards and values. 

Responsibilities

• Washing all dishes and cooking equipment in a timely manner during and between restaurant services
• Clean cooking stations and equipment to help expedite service
• Clean and maintain FOH areas and curbside as requested
• Maintaining cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including but not limited to: refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
• Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including but not limited to: refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
• Assisting in other BOH areas as directed, including but not limited to: basic food preparation, receiving of deliveries, and proper storage of perishables upon receipt
• Limit waste by maintaining proper standards for food prep, proper food storage, and proper FIFO procedures for all ingredients, as directed
• Work collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff
• Hone existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set
• Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
• Understand and execute food safety and allergies protocols
• Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by management
• Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history
• Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels
• Adhere to grooming and dress code standards

• Must possess thoroughness and an ability to manage time effectively
• Looking for someone with an exceptional work ethic, an eye for detail, and a strong sense of personal responsibility

• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

Physical Demands

• The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing for 5 to 10 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations
