Job description

Title: Graph/API Agentic Engineer

Category: Full-Time

Status: Exempt, Salary

Salary: $105K annually + Performance Bonus

Reports to: Director of Product & Operations

Location: Onsite at TCWGlobal Corporate Office (San Diego, CA)

Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary:

TCWGlobal is a people-first workforce solutions company known for combining operational excellence with a highly human workplace culture. Our San Diego campus, onsite amenities, charitable gift matching, volunteer time, and commitment to growth reflect the belief that great work should also be meaningful work.

Cloud Motion Technologies (CMT) is TCWGlobal's technology engine. CMT builds AI-native products, intelligent workflows, data systems, and automation layers that help redefine how modern workforce operations are delivered. Together, TCWGlobal and CMT are entering a Digital Metamorphosis: reimagining products, workflows, decisions, and human-machine collaboration through responsible AI, strong governance, and measurable business impact.

The Graph/API Agentic Engineer owns the connective tissue of our AI-native technology stack. This role is responsible for the lifecycle, reliability, security, documentation, and business value of the APIs, integrations, and inline tools that power our products.

This is a hands-on platform operations role for someone who sees APIs not as plumbing, but as leverage. You will help TCWGlobal and CMT move faster by making integrations easier to adopt, safer to operate, clearer to govern, and easier to retire when they no longer serve the mission.

Key Responsibilities:

API Lifecycle and Integration Governance

  • Own the full lifecycle of APIs, integrations, and inline tools, including discovery, evaluation, onboarding, configuration, renewal, replacement, and sunsetting.
  • Maintain a centralized inventory of active APIs, vendors, credentials, environments, dependency maps, owners, versions, and deprecation timelines.
  • Create and enforce API onboarding and offboarding standards that support speed, security, cost awareness, and product reliability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate emerging APIs and tools that can unlock new AI agent capabilities or workflow improvements.

Security, Reliability, and Operations

  • Own operational standards for API key management, credential rotation, least-privilege access, secret handling, and environment readiness.
  • Partner with security and engineering teams to review vulnerabilities, uptime risks, rate limits, capacity constraints, and failure modes across critical integrations.
  • Support deployment of APIs and tools across modern cloud/serverless environments, CI/CD workflows, and product surfaces.
  • Define monitoring and escalation practices for API failures, degraded performance, expired credentials, vendor incidents, and breaking changes.
  • Helping with client integrations and building out an ecosystem of integration partners using AI tools.

Developer Enablement and Documentation

  • Build internal playbooks for API selection, onboarding, security review, observability, incident escalation, versioning, and deprecation.
  • Maintain practical documentation that engineering, product, support, risk, and finance partners can use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to make integrations reusable, resilient, and aligned with the AI ecosystem architecture.
  • Help retire legacy integrations with minimal disruption and strong knowledge transfer.

First 90 Days: Success Outcomes

  • Create a current-state API and tooling inventory with owners, vendors, credentials, environments, costs, dependencies, and renewal dates.
  • Publish API onboarding, key rotation, and deprecation playbooks.
  • Identify the top API reliability, security, and cost exposure risks and recommend a remediation plan.
  • Implement or improve monitoring for critical API failures, rate limits, and credential expiration.
  • Establish a recurring review cadence with engineering, security, product, and AI FinOps partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in API operations, integration management, platform engineering, solutions engineering, developer operations, or related technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of REST, GraphQL, webhooks, event-driven architectures, authentication, OAuth, rate limiting, API keys, and secure credential handling.
  • Hands-on experience with API management or testing tools such as Postman, Kong, Apigee, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with modern cloud/serverless platforms, CI/CD workflows, GitHub-based development, observability tools, and production incident response.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM APIs, model providers, agent tools, and AI-native workflow patterns is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Supabase, Vercel, Edge Functions, GitHub Actions, Lovable, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong documentation discipline, systems thinking, vendor-management judgment, and cross-functional communication skills.

Salary & Benefits:

This position offers full-time benefits, including a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Additional compensation may be earned by exceeding sales and service goals.
