Job description

Clean Harbors, in Deer Park, TX, is hiring for an API Inspector to join their safety conscious team! This team member will be responsible for performing inspections of equipment in compliance with the appropriate procedures, codes, and/or jurisdictional requirements, and will be reporting inspection findings, makes recommendations and approve repairs for certifying compliance.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, with weekends as needed

Per Diem: This position requires extensive travel, approximately 95%, across the United States and Canada. The company covers business-related travel expenses, including flights, hotels, rental vehicles, and other approved travel costs. A daily per diem of $40 is provided while traveling.

Hourly Rate: $35/HR + based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health & Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner always;
  • Be familiar with and certified in accordance with the API codes required to perform duties;
  • Must possess the ability to schedule activities related to inspection;
  • Must be proficient with standard computer software such as MS Word and Excel and be able to write detailed inspection reports;
  • Must be capable of climbing, working at high elevations and working in confined spaces;
  • Completes requested documentation for client and company;
  • Learns and abides by Company policies and procedures;
  • Completes classroom training, job training, and testing required by company;
  • Be knowledgeable of services offered by the company and available to customers;
  • Follows company policies and procedures;
  • Communicate with customers and other parties in such a manner as to benefit the professional reputation of the company;
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management that will be required by the needs of Clean Harbors.

QUALIFICATIONS

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Current API Inspection certification required.
  • Candidates must possess an active API certification at the time of application to be considered.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport within one (1) year of employment to support business travel to Canada;
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 95% across the United States and Canada.
  • Must meet the requirements to attain certification in inspection methods performed in the field;
  • 1+ years' experience in performing inspections while certified; NDT and/or inspection techniques performed in the field, API certified (required);
  • Organized, self-motivated, and works well with clients;
  • Strong communication, presentation, and mentor skills;
