Overview

The JDE Business Systems Analyst analyzes, enhances, and maintains application systems that support accounting & finance, project/job cost, capital asset management, subcontracts and procurement. This role translates business and process requirements into practical, cost-effective system designs and applies available technology to meet business needs. The analyst partners with IT teams and business users to deliver solutions that support both operational and reporting requirements.

In this role, the analyst supports the implementation, migration and integration of newly acquired companies. The position also works closely with IT, Finance, Controllers and Operations to evaluate and deploy new system features, enhancements, and finance solutions, while identifying gaps between JD Edwards (JDE) EnterpriseOne (E1) and related integrations. Success in this role requires deep enterprise resource planning expertise, particularly in JDE E1 job cost, job profit/recognition, service billing, contract billing, financial modules (AP, AR, Fixed Assets and General Accounting), and the integration points across these functions.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with Sr. Business Analyst, Developers and other technical team members and business users during project implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Document current and future-state process flows to analyze business processes, including user roles, use cases, edit rules, detailed system and functional specifications.
  • Support business users and subject matter experts, guiding the definition of new requirements and identifying practical ways to improve business processes.
  • Produce technical/functional specifications, workflow charts, and diagrams that provide developers with detailed application requirements.
  • Maintain documentation covering program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and defect resolution.
  • Identify business strategies, challenges, and opportunities to help partners prioritize new initiatives and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with or lead cross-functional teams to meet business requirements, resolve issues and support system testing.
  • Perform data analysis using E1 queries, Microsoft Pivot tables, etc. for troubleshooting and identification of issues.
  • Create OMW projects to track version changes/enhancements needed for approvals per SDLC requirements.
  • Perform basic SQL queries and write select and update statements needed for data fixes approved per SOX control.
  • Ability to design and map third-party integrations, including EDI and APIs.
  • Develop scenarios, use cases and participate in quality assurance to confirm requirements are implemented correctly.
  • Create user training materials and partner with the business to train end users.
  • Provide technical support for questions, errors, and system issues.
  • Travel is expected to be infrequent, but up to 20% may be required as needed.
  • Account reconciliation support as required by the accounting team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred but not required.

  • PMP certification is a plus.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance and Accounting or a related field from an accredited university or institution.
  • CPA preferred but not required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Extensive understanding of JD Edwards E1 system, applications and data structures.
  • Construction or high-volume distribution environment experience is a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with job cost, profit recognition, and finance applications.
  • Required experience with Job Cost, Profit Recognition, Service Billing, Contract Billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Procurement, and Subcontracts.
  • Strong technical understanding of E1 tables, data structures, data dictionary, form extensions, workflows, user defined objects, etc.
  • Ability to set up/configure projects, cost structures, automatic accounting instructions (AAIs), tax set up.
  • Deep knowledge of data integrity reports and provide support to resolve system integrity related issues.
  • Experience with software development life cycle, and OMW promotion is required.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of JDE ERP systems, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, along with strong verbal and written communication skills and a solid understanding of computer systems terminology and functions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong organizational & time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $115,000-$130,000 / year
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
