Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Days - Newburgh, IN

Medical Ortho MS RN - Days - **Clinical Interview**
NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start: 8.24 - Bi-weekly orientation
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 (will accept 48s upon request)
  • Shift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7
  • Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
  • On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
  • Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday.
  • Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
Patient Population: Combination of medical and surgical patients, no cardiac heavy. Confusion/BH/CIWA, CHF, COPD, UTI, cellulitis, sepsis, amputations, decubitus ulcers, general surgeries.
Skillset: IV fluid/antibiotic therapies, strong medical/post-surgical assessment, heparin gtts., wounds/wound vacs, basic tele.

Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): D500 - 32 beds, increasing to 37 January 2025.
Unit Strengths: New leadership brought in to lead unit, amazing teamwork, and experienced charge nurses.
