CityVet is looking for Part-Time Veterinary Technicians (VT) to join our Urgent Care team! At CityVet, we know our team of happy people is as unique and diverse as the pets we care for. Make pet care your purpose

The Veterinary Technician (VT) is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leverage their time and efforts to meet the needs of their clients and patients. The Veterinary Technician works to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater levels of efficiency in daily practice. Veterinary Technicians help facilitate and streamline communication from the operating room to the front office staff and most importantly, the client.

Essential qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age at the time of hire
  • At least 3 year of veterinary industry experience
  • Understanding of and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals
  • Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring during soft tissue and dental procedures
  • Flexible scheduling, including weekend availability

A day in the life of an Urgent Care Veterinary Technician:

Assists the Veterinarian in urgent medical and surgical cases. This includes:

  • Preparing lab samples
  • Interpreting cytology samples
  • Interpreting urinalysis
  • Running in-house lab work
  • Preparing samples for send out analysis to Antech
  • Inducing, monitoring, and recover anesthetic patients
  • Preparing cost estimates
  • Filling Prescriptions
  • Client education
