Both roles often share similar work environments and required skills, making them closely related in the data annotation field.

What are Annotation Math jobs?

Annotation Math jobs involve labeling, tagging, and categorizing mathematical data, such as equations, formulas, graphs, or written math problems, to create high-quality datasets. These annotated datasets are often used to train artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models to recognize and process mathematical content accurately. Annotation Math professionals need a strong understanding of mathematics, attention to detail, and familiarity with annotation tools or platforms. This work is critical for improving technologies like automated math solvers, educational apps, and document digitization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Annotation Math Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Annotation Math Specialist, you need a solid understanding of mathematics, attention to detail, and familiarity with educational or assessment standards, often supported by a relevant degree. Proficiency with annotation tools, data labeling platforms, and sometimes LaTeX or similar mathematical typesetting systems is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, communication, and the ability to work independently are essential soft skills for accuracy and consistency. These skills and qualities are crucial to ensure high-quality, precise annotations that support machine learning, educational resources, or assessment development.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Annotation Math roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Annotation Math roles often encounter challenges such as interpreting ambiguous mathematical data, maintaining consistency in labeling complex equations, and managing repetitive tasks that require high attention to detail. Addressing these challenges involves following clear annotation guidelines, collaborating with team members to resolve uncertainties, and utilizing quality assurance tools to minimize errors. Regular feedback sessions and ongoing training also help ensure accuracy and support professional growth in this specialized field.

Job description

Our Mission

At MaxInsights, we enable Robotics Foundation Model companies to access massive, high-quality, scalable training data for embodied AI through our end-to-end data solution platform. Frontier labs are racing to build general-purpose robots, and high-quality training data is the bottleneck. We are building the data collection systems, simulation engines, operational capabilities, and software toolchain to help our partners drive the field forward.

What You'll Do
  • End-to-End Project Delivery: Own the full lifecycle of complex robotics data collection and annotation projects—from initial client alignment and solution design to final delivery. Ensure dataset production meets strict client SLAs and accuracy standards while managing internal cost and timeline targets.

  • Data Solution & Spec Design: Deeply understand clients' robotic model training needs (sensors, modalities, action spaces). Translate ambiguous academic and commercial requirements into concrete, high-precision data collection, simulation, and annotation specifications (Specs).

  • Global Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the central program hub coordinating teams across the US, China, and Southeast Asia. Bring together engineering, data operations, algorithms, and global annotation teams to drive seamless execution across time zones.

  • Quality Control & Progress Monitoring: Build and monitor real-time tracking systems for data production pipelines. Establish multi-tiered validation and automated spot-check mechanisms to ensure the integrity, temporal alignment, and label accuracy of millions of data frames.

  • Process Automation: Identify recurring bottlenecks or manual friction points in the global data workflow and collaborate with software teams to build scalable, automated platform tooling.

Who You Are
  • Background: 2–5 years of project or program management experience (TPM role). Direct experience in AI data services, autonomous driving, robotics, or managing high-throughput data BPO pipelines is highly preferred.

  • Technical Literacy: A strong grasp of tech fundamentals. You can comfortably interface with engineering teams on topics like data pipelines, sensor modalities, 3D spatial math, and ML training workflows.

  • Problem Solving: Exceptional learning agility and structured thinking. You can quickly isolate the root cause of complex pipeline failures, sensor drifts, or label inconsistencies, and drive cross-functional resources to a solution.

  • Cross-Border Collaboration: Elite communication skills in English; comfortable working with global, multi-lingual teams across different time zones. Comfort with international travel or coordinating with overseas operations is a plus.

  • Startup Mindset: A high-ownership, self-driven operator who thrives on turning chaos into structured, repeatable processes in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation: Market-competitive base salary, and comprehensive benefits.

  • Massive Impact: A front-row seat and massive leverage in building the data infrastructure powering the next wave of embodied intelligence.

  • Elite Collaboration: Direct partnership with leading experts, founders, and tier-one AI and robotics foundation model labs globally.

  • Growth Culture: A fast-paced, high-ownership startup culture that prioritizes execution speed, transparency, and minimal bureaucracy.
