Job description

What We're Looking For

HNTB is looking for an experienced senior graphic designer to join our growing marketing team. To be successful in this position, you'll be a self-starter capable of designing a project from initial brainstorming stages to final execution. As a senior graphic design teammate, you will be responsible for managing and creating print and digital assets including sales proposals, presentations and PR communications that support marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering high-quality design solutions on deadlines, while moving at a quick pace.

What You'll Do:

  • Creates print and digital materials for proposals, including templates, charts, maps, infographics, covers and layout.
  • Creates print and digital materials for presentations, including PowerPoints, leave-behinds, and display boards.
  • Creates print and digital materials for PR and internal communications, including brochures, ads, and announcements.
  • Follows and implements the visual identity direction from leadership on key projects and pursuits.
  • May work on complex projects requiring specialized design or industry knowledge, including leading creative direction for print and digital materials for proposals, presentations or other marketing-related efforts.
  • Utilizes storytelling techniques and champions creative vision on key projects and pursuits.
  • Leads maintenance and organization of digital assets such as icons, photography, and stock graphics.
  • Coordinates with print vendors and photographers.
  • Responsible for final graphics review and approval.
  • Mentors lower-level designers. Regularly shares and discusses work with creative staff.
  • May assist with conducting trainings for Marketing staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Associates Degree in Art, Graphic Design or related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • In lieu of education 8 years of relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven track record of delivering graphic solutions that drive business results
  • A strong portfolio of work showcasing page layout, presentation design and data visualization
  • Exceptional skills in visual design with proficiency in design software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Powerpoint and other visual design tools
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor graphic designers, manage projects, and ensure all designs meet the set deadlines with quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines while working at a fast pace, including working on several tasks at the same time
  • Ability to strategically assess challenges and articulate design solutions to teams
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all elements of a design work together harmoniously and meet brand standards
  • A self-starter who takes initiative to drive projects forward
  • Strong critical thinking skills to produce the most effective visuals that meet client needs
  • Experience driving critical graphics discussions with teams to enhance collaboration and efficient problem-solving
  • Willingness to learn new skills, tools or methods based on project requirements
  • Adaptable to changing ideas, priorities or strategies with the ability to strategically assess situations and determine the best course of action

What We Prefer:

  • Previous experience in AEC industry
  • Basic knowledge of video animation and video editing in programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
  • Experience using ArcGIS for mapping and data visualization
  • Experience using 3D modeling software like SketchUp
