THE THIRD FLOOR is the worlds leading visualization company, with offices in Los Angeles and London and teams working on productions around the globe. Since 2004, weve partnered with clients to help them plan and explore their stories before filming, using our visual storytelling skills and deep filmmaking knowledge to help directors and studios envision their projects in the earliest stages of production. Founded by artists for artists, The Third Floor is a fun, creative studio where we work on high-profile projects while maintaining a collaborative, small-studio culture. In 2022, we expanded with a dedicated animation department that creates final content for film, episodic, and games. Our work has received multiple Emmy and VES awards, and our clients include Disney, Marvel, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Universal, 20th Century, and many more.

The Bidding Supervisor is responsible for the creative assessment and strategic planning for all incoming productions considering an engagement with THE THIRD FLOOR. They are responsible for evaluating scope and crafting bids, as well as developing and maintaining genuine relationships with TTFs existing and future clients across all sectors of entertainment.

A strong understanding of the Entertainment Industry, as well as the Visualization and Virtual Production process, the Bidding Supervisor works to ensure that every client has a transformative experience from the moment they meet us, through the post-mortem of their latest collaboration with our team.

The Bidding Supervisor is a strategic thinker, personable, and well-engaged with clients and internal leadership across all branches of THE THIRD FLOOR.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reads incoming scripts, VFX breakdowns and reviews all creative materials received.

  • Attends all client meetings for potential projects pre-award and post-award for team kickoffs to clearly convey scope and client expectations.

  • Assisting with outreach emails and phone calls to targeted productions that are identified as good candidates for visualization, virtual production and/or final animation services.

  • Responsible for defining bidding process, including the preparation of bid templates.

  • Partners with global production teams to support bidding where needed.

  • Lead negotiations with sub-vendors, balancing cost efficiency with reliability, performance, and delivery standards. Evaluate vendor bids critically, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for optimization?.

  • Manages calendar for prospective project meetings. Take and distribute notes, and track information in Kommo.

  • Maintains Supervisor Reels and Bio catalog.

  • Responsible for creative and financial handover of awarded shows to the Line Producer and Supervisor, maintaining a comprehensive set of notes and assets for each project.

  • Maintains updated Projections documentation for all new Bids and Potential Proposals, submits temp bids to Casting Department for resource allocation.

  • Contributes to the New Business Team effort by staying current with the latest industry news and recommending areas of opportunity for expanding TTFs footprint within the film industry and adjacent sectors, including gaming, advertising, architecture, and experiential entertainment.

  • Adherence to best practices/security protocols around all client and internal material, processes, and documentation.

  • Working closely with key stakeholders, CEO, GHoP, Managing Directors, and other Business Development contributors to strategize the most effective approach to client decision makers, to win more prestigious work for TTF globally.

  • Develops strong relationships with current and future Directors, Producers. Shadows Head of Strategic Partnerships to build connections and become a familiar, trusted contact for future project inquiries.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 8+ years experience in the entertainment industry and/or minimum 3 years of TTF Production Coordinator experience preferred

  • In-depth understanding of animation or VFX Production and technical workflows

  • Expert understanding scheduling of man-days, and reporting skills

  • Strong understanding of common file formats and resolutions

  • Fluent in MS Office packages (including Excel, Word and Project)

  • Excellent client communication skills

Desirables:

  • Good knowledge of Maya and Photoshop a plus

  • Understanding of Technological pipelines

  • Basic Avid/editorial knowledge

  • Lateral thinking skills

The pay scale is between $85,000 - $130,000 based on experience, skillset and other factors. Additional TTF benefits: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision), Sick Time, 401k (staff only), PTO (staff only), and additional Perks & Benefits.
