Job description

Requisition ID:                       66466                          Title: Researcher, Medical Visualization and Operations

Main Objective: Responsible for conducting research and analyzing data and processes within the Medical Visualization (MV) department, with a primary focus on supporting the Realtime Graphics Software function. Reports to the MV Sr. Specialist and collaborates closely with Realtime Graphics Software team leadership to ensure alignment across Realtime Graphics Software and Animation/Illustration workflows. Works alongside Medical Visualization software team members to inform enhancements to medical visualization capabilities, knowledge base, workflow efficiency, and intake processes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct research to improve OR planning processes and advance patient/HCP education on orthopedic procedures, products, and techniques through medical visualization software.
Investigate and design optimized workflows for delivering medical visualizations and marketing assets via real-time platforms such as OR Planner / Arthroman.
Research and refine medical visualization project request and triage processes in alignment with Operations team intake standards.
Support alignment and integration between Realtime Graphics Software and Animation/Illustration teams, ensuring consistency in workflows, standards, and project execution.
Contribute to research planning frameworks and best practices that support continuous improvement across the Operations team.
Design scripts and software-based systems to automate data collection and generate analytics that inform strategic decision-making.
Generate and interpret performance metrics in support of capacity planning, resource optimization, and operational compliance.
Translate complex data and research findings into clear, actionable materials for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Prepare and present operational reports and summaries for internal and external audiences in visually engaging formats.
Facilitate and document cross-departmental collaboration to advance integration of medical visualization software with existing platforms.
Educate users on the proper use of medical visualization content, including software tools and digital media assets, to support product and procedure education.
Work collaboratively with developers, 3D animators, modelers, and artists in a team-driven environment to advance shared project goals.

Skills:

General understanding of orthopedic anatomy and scientific/medical terminology.
Research workflow and process improvement and optimizations in support of cross-functional operational goals.
Communicate research findings and Arthrex resources to both internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate alignment between Realtime Graphics Software and Animation/Illustration teams, ensuring consistent standards and operational integration.
Project management experience; familiarity with operations team workflows and intake processes.
Experience working with healthcare staff, gathering requirements, and planning future projects and initiatives.
Develop evidence-informed education content focused on the use of medical visualization of Arthrex products and procedures, supporting cross-product knowledge and training.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Additional skillset:

General understanding of the visualization of orthopedics procedures, equipment, techniques, and patient education using cutting-edge graphics technologies.
Research on how to best represent product and procedure medical information using visualization technologies, including Realtime 3D Graphics, Animations, Illustrations, and visualization hardware (AR/VR/XR).
Design and develop automated research and analytic tools, data collection strategy, and analysis to drive decision-making.
Conduct research to improve Medical Visualization Technology.
Research and evaluate workflow and process optimization opportunities in support of cross-functional operational goals.

Discretion/ Latitude:

Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignment.  Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Life Science, Informatics, Statistics Education, or related fields required. Master's degree preferred.
2+ years of experience in healthcare and medical education with a focus in Orthopedics.
2+ years of experience in research, project coordination, operations support, or process improvement preferred
