Responsibilities

This position will work in a dynamic multi-discipline environment, accountable for engineering deliverables, schedule management, maintain professional relationships with vendors, customers, personnel as required by projects. The BIM-Revit Designer will work with engineering and technical personnel to ensure overall project goals are met. Periodic travel to project site locations may be required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize BIM software to create accurate and detailed models and sheet sets.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to develop construction documents.
  • Make precise revisions to drawings based on client and team feedback.
  • Prepare comprehensive schedules for equipment and fixtures.
  • Adapt existing designs to meet project requirements and client specifications.
  • Develop and maintain Revit/CAD templates and content.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk software, specifically Revit/BIM Cloud Modeling, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in other 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or PTC Creo.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning mechanical, electrical, and/or structural systems design.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring the production of accurate drawings.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Prepare and check design drawings, specifications, calculations, system design descriptions, and standard detail development for industrial and commercial buildings.
  • Coordinate with architects and multiple engineering disciplines, Build teaming relationship with technical and other company organizations.
  • Interpret and adapt guidelines for specific cases.
  • Ensure design deliverables comply with BGS policies and procedures.

Duties:

  • Develop project digital strategies working with the design manager and other disciplines leads.
  • Ensure disciplines are sharing information through a controlled, effective process in a BIM environment.
  • Ensure LOD, LOIN, and Classification systems per project-specific requirements.
  • Working with the team to constantly review progress and report on successes and failures so that continual improvement can be realized.
  • Work closely with project designers and engineers to ensure that full collaboration is reached for required scopes of work project milestones.
  • Develop automated workflows to support increased productivity and digitalization.
  • Identify new, innovative, and emerging technologies to assist in the development process, specifically as it pertains to the virtual design and construction environment.
  • Facilitate virtual walkthroughs as needed basis.
  • Participate in all project-specific BIM Coordination meetings.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7-10 years overall work experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership level role preferred.
  • Experience in the design, construction, and delivery of nuclear, industrial or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience in leading the BIM and digital information element of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Sound knowledge of ISO 19650.
  • Knowledge of and confirmed practical background in Autodesk Revit, BIM 360/ACC, SharePoint, and related Building Information Modeling software & tools.
  • Experience and understanding of leading teams to deliver project data to industry standards.
  • An aim to pursue continued education on BIM and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver effective training and provide ongoing education and technological support to project teams.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build, cultivate and leverage personal and professional networks and relationships, develop, and deliver successful presentations, and collaborate and negotiate effectively.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, complex start-up and/or entrepreneurial environment.
  • Enjoy working in a fluid, dynamic organization with a minimal amount of direction.
  • Ability to use time productively and work efficiently to achieve team/project goals.
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as resolve and lead priorities.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • Schedule is full-time, Monday – Friday 40-hour week.
  • Onsite position in Oak Ridge, TN or Idaho Falls, ID.
