Hours: Part-time (1015 hours per week)
Duration: 34 months, with potential extension
Compensation: $20$35 per hour, based on experience and level of animation contribution
About Beakers House of Music
Beakers House of Music is an educational music program designed to help young children learn music literacy through storytelling, characters, and engaging visuals. Our in-person curriculum is currently being adapted into a digital format that combines storybooks, workbooks, and video-based instruction supported by animation and motion graphics. As we expand into digital production, we are building a creative team to support visual development, design preparation, and future animation work.

Role Overview
We are seeking an Associate Animation & Design Producer to support our visual development and animation preparation process during the early production phase of our digital
program. This role works closely with our team to help organize visual assets, prepare layered artwork, and contribute to design production tasks that support storyboarding and animation.
This role begins by supporting the visual development and design preparation phase of production. However, candidates with animation experience will have opportunities to contribute
to motion design or animation work as the project transitions into video production.
This role is ideal for an early-career creative or emerging professional interested in animation, illustration, visual storytelling, or digital media production. Candidates with
prior professional experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
Organize and prepare design files for print and digital use
Support character and environment design by preparing variations, expressions, and layout
adjustments
Translate scripts into visual breakdowns and rough layout boards
Label and track which illustrations will later become animated vs. remain static
Prepare resized assets for different formats (storybook, workbook, and video frame)
Maintain asset organization including file naming, folders, and version tracking
Develop reference boards, mood boards, and visual research as needed
Prepare layered artwork that may later be used for animation
Qualifications
Degree or training in Animation, Illustration, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Digital Media, or a
related field (or equivalent professional experience)
35 years of relevant experience preferred, though strong portfolios from emerging
creatives are welcome
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator required; After Effects a plus)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to follow visual direction and collaborate within an established creative vision
Familiarity with storyboarding concepts
Understanding of how illustrations translate into animation
Interest in animation, design production, or visual storytelling
Interest in or experience with 3-D animation, particularly character animation, reusable motion elements, or short animated sequence
Understanding of how animated elements integrate with live-action video or composited footage
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Interest in educational media, childrens programming, or character-driven storytelling
Growth Opportunity

contributors as the project moves into its video production phase, and compensation may scale based on experience and demonstrated animation capability.
