Job description

Title: eLearning Developer

Location: Albany, NY

Duration: 12 month minimum contract

Pay Rate: $45/hr. W2


Project Overview

This role will support full-time NYPA staff by addressing capacity needs related to the design and development of eLearning training requested by various business units. It will also assist in converting existing LMS courses into formats compatible with the new Workday LMS being implemented at NYPA.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Develop training materials using NYPA approved software tools (Articulate, Adobe, Vyond, Camtasia, WellSaid Labs, Kahoot, Microsoft, etc.) • Develop training materials including the following capabilities: - Design user interfaces for iPhone, iPad, Desktop, PowerPoint Presentations - Ability to write audio scripts to support technical topics - Implement animation ideas utilizing various techniques - Ability to develop relevant scenarios alongside content owners’ knowledge - Ability to research details to flush out technical topics - Ability to identify, locate or generate NYPA-specific visuals from provided sources • Design training courses utilizing input provided by NYPA content owners and subject matter experts. • Work with NYPA personnel to develop new interactions in existing courses including video solutions, LMS eLearning courses and Power Point training solutions.

Skills

• Advanced user of Articulate Studio and Rise and/or Storyline products to develop online training (at least 5 years). • Advanced user of PowerPoint with strong storytelling techniques, creative scenario-based learning ideas and an engaging visual/animation developer. • Working knowledge of Project Management skills needed for interaction with clients during design and development process. • Ability to work on projects as a solo team member and meet quality/timing requirements. • Ability to develop learning objectives and extract key knowledge transfer goals. • Ability to develop scenarios to support course goals based on provided content. • Ability to develop an audio script based on provided source documents along with the content owner’s feedback. • Ability to convert provided source documents into training solutions including highly technical and complex topics. • Ability to develop both engaging PowerPoint presentations and corresponding LMS modules with an understanding on how to support each format and presentation requirements. • Ability to publish SCORM 1.2, xAPI, and AICC compliant courseware and MP4 videos. • Ability to create or modify existing graphic elements. • Ability to create new or modify existing interactions. • Ability to create and edit video content inside PowerPoint, Camtasia, Vyond and Premiere. • Ability to prioritize time and project deliverables with minimal oversight. • Ability to provide concise project update reports on work in progress. • Ability to organize module elements and manage the collecting, labeling, and storing for future updates.

Education and Certifications

At least 5 years’ experience in online training development using Articulate products is mandatory. Bachelor’s degree in learning related field or significant relevant experience is required. Degree in Organizational Learning/Training and Development is preferred. Portfolio of eLearning solutions including animations and storytelling techniques is required. (NOTE: NYPA cannot access Google Drives)
