Job description

North Hills Animal Hospital & Resort is seeking a Animal Care Specialist / Kennel Assistant to join our team! Our Kennel team is dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, clients, and staff.

In this role, you will support both animal care and facility maintenance. Responsibilities include:

  • monitoring dogs in daycare groups
  • providing daily care for boarding dogs and cats including feeding, watering, bathing, and socializing boarded pets
  • administering medications to both dogs and cats
  • You will also perform janitorial and housekeeping duties, ensuring kennels, common areas, and treatment spaces are properly sanitized and well stocked with supplies.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who may not have prior veterinary clinical experience but are excited about working with animals and providing hands on care. Candidates must be reliable, friendly, organized, and able to multitask while prioritizing animal safety and well-being.

Schedule: This is a Full-Time position, with availability needed Monday-Sunday. Typically staff work every other weekend.

    • Ability to observe and report changes in animal behavior or condition
    • Comfort handling dogs and cats safely, including group settings
    • Ability to follow care protocols, including feeding and medication routines
