Job description

Mixed Animal Veterinarian

Hotham Veterinary Services is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Mixed Animal Veterinarian to our team.

As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.

Hotham Veterinary Services is currently a 4-doctor practice with 2 locations. Our first hospital in Presque Isle and a second location in Houlton, Maine. We have a fantastic support team at each site and well-equipped, well cared for hospitals that include ultrasound, full lab, and digital radiology. We provide and maintain a well-stocked ambulatory unit for large animal services.

Veterinarian - Mixed Animal

Hotham Veterinary Services in Presque Isle, ME

Salary range starting at $130K with a sign-on bonus of up to $25K.

Potential opportunity for hospital ownership (equity or profits interest)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Examine and diagnose diseases and injuries of small and large animal cases and treat surgically or medically
  • Collaborate within our veterinary ecosystem, and communicate with referring veterinarians
  • Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training to stay at the top of your field
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Perform dentistry with opportunities for mentorship if desired
  • Maintain a positive and supportive work environment
  • Guide and utilize exceptional support staff
  • Collaborating with team veterinarians on critical care cases
  • Diagnose and treat everything equine, from dentistry, colic workup, lameness evaluation, and surgery
  • Some dairy, beef, and camelid/small ruminant work are also available

REQUIREMENTS

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree
  • 2+ years of experience practicing veterinary medicine in a Veterinary Hospital setting is preferred
  • Internship training is also preferred but not required
  • Ability to attain ME Veterinary License
